WebAnywhere

A Screen reader on the go.

WebAnywhere is a web-based screen reader for the web. It functions much like a screen reader – but is restricted to the content of the Web Pages.

WebAnywhere does not require the installation of any special software on the client machine. As a result, it enables blind people to access the web from any computer they happen to have access as long as it has a sound card.  WebAnywhere will run on any machine, even heavily locked-down public terminals, regardless of what operating system it is running and regardless of what browsers are installed.

Try it

Just visit wa.cs.washington.edu to go directly to WebAnywhere. It’s completely FREE to use! A WebAnywhere Beta Release is also available that adds highlighting and other features that might be useful for low-vision users or others for whom both hearing and seeing the content can be helpful. For more information, visit the WebAnywhere Home Page.
