Fruit Basket Demos

The "fruit basket" project is a collection of demonstrations of a simple software program written in a variety of programming languages. The resource includes both application programming languages (ex. Visual Basic, C Sharp, etc.) and internet programming languages (ex. JavaScript, Perl, etc.). It provides a brief description of the programming languages used to create the demonstration program and a downloadable zip file that includes the source code of the same example program written in that language.

This growing resource allows developers to evaluate and compare the accessibility features of various programming languages. Each example is compatible with a variety of assistive technologies and the sample programs and source code can be used as both an introduction to a new language for those who are just learning to program or as an introduction to programmers who are learning to create accessible applications.

Visit the fruit basket demo site to read the program descriptions and to download the demonstration files.

This is a project that originated with the Blindness and Low Vision Discussion Group and was previously maintained by  Alacorn Computer Enterprises. The Fruit Basket Demo Pages are currently maintained by Sina Bahram.
