OpenCaps
OpenCaps - Captioning in a Web Browser Near You
The goal behind OpenCaps is to give users ready, free access to captioning software that runs as part of a web page. The software can be accessed remotely by a URL. Once accessed, users can work with the remote version or keep a local copy on the desktop for times when the internet is not available.
OpenCaps Beta has been released! OpenCaps is a free, web-based, open-source caption and subtitle editor developed by the Inclusive Design Institute (formerly the ATRC). OpenCaps can be used as a plugin for the videos that are a part of the Matterhorn Project.
OpenCaps is based on CapScribe, a Mac-based (Intel, Mac OS 10.5 and greater) captioning and video description editor. CapScribe supports captioning for Quicktime movies, movies uploads to YouTube, DFXP caption file exports for Flash, as well as the creation of video description audio tracks with text-to-speech as an option.
